Welcome to our dedicated helpline, established to support Black women* who have encountered misogynoir, racial discrimination, and adversity. Our team is committed to providing empathic listening and understanding, aiming to create a supportive space where your experiences and feelings are acknowledged and validated.

We also offer guidance on accessing additional support services that can assist you further in your journey toward healing and empowerment.

All conversations with our helpline are confidential. Your personal details, the information you share, and the nature of your call are kept private, except in circumstances where authorised by you or legally required.

You are welcome to remain anonymous during calls if you prefer. It is not mandatory to provide your name or any identifying information unless you choose to do so.

*Black and dual-heritage women (inclusive of cis/trans and gender expansive people) from African or Caribbean Heritage. It is important to note that we are aware of the nuance of the Black diaspora and encourage Black women and individuals who were born and/or raised in different continents but currently live in the UK to also apply.

All of our listeners are trained volunteers. Our helpline does not provide medical, legal, or mental health advice.

URGENT HELP

Our helpline is not a crisis intervention service. We are unable to handle calls related to suicide or severe distress.

If you are experiencing an immediate crisis, or are worried about someone else, please visit your nearest A&E or call the emergency services on 999 .

If you are not in immediate risk but would like support and advice, please visit your GP. You can also contact Samaritans 24/7 on 116 123 , or the NHS Helpline ( 111 ).
